A few YouTube videos and news articles are currently spreading misinformation that Tesla is working or developing a smartphone named Tesla Pi Phone. Unfortunately, it’s not true.
Tesla is NOT developing, working, making, or releasing a phone. According to Elon Musk and Tesla’s plan, they never thought about making a phone. Elon Musk believes smartphones are yesterday’s technology. It’s a false rumor that a few YouTube videos and blog posts are spreading around the internet.
The funny thing is, these dubious article writers and misleading YouTube video makers don’t even follow Elon Musk’s company in real-time. If they did, they would have known that Elon Musk never said nor hinted that Tesla is working on a smartphone.
However, Elon Musk is working on some future technology that hasn’t come out yet in the market. Here are two authentic videos of Elon Musk:
Elon Musk believes Neuralink – not a smartphone nor iPhone – is the future.
A few years ago, CleanTechnica wrote an article claiming that Tesla is working on a smartwatch. In response, Elon Musk replied, “Definitely not. Smartwatches & phones are yesterday’s technology, Neuralinks are the future.”
We will talk more about Neuralink after a few paragraphs.
Tesla doesn’t have a PR department. A few years ago, Elon Musk fired everyone in the PR department and closed it. It’s primarily because almost all the news outlets were severely negative about Tesla and Elon Musk. The PR department failed to do a great job at stopping those FUDs.
If there were a PR department, this type of misleading news would have been crushed a long time ago.

So let us reiterate. Tesla is NOT working, coming out, developing, launching, building, or releasing any phone. Rumors regarding Tesla phones are false, inaccurate, misleading, and fake. The Tesla Pi phone is NOT a real thing.
However, Elon Musk is working on the next big thing after the smartphone. It’s Neuralink.
In various interviews, Elon Musk stated that he considers humans a cyborg.
Even though we are not physically connected to the internet, we are indirectly connected to the internet through smartphones, watches, and computers. The only downside is that our input-output is slow. We write, read, or watch videos at a limited rate.
However, Neuralink will fix it. They are developing a high-bandwidth brain-machine interface.
According to Elon Musk and Neuralink’s plan, when they come out of testing, Neuralink will place a small device in the human brain to read, write brain signals.
Neuralink has already shown a proof of concept. This Neuralink video shows a monkey playing a ping-pong game without physical interactions and with the help of a Neuralink brain implant chip.
Elon Musk Neuralink’s primary purpose is to develop a device that will be implanted in the human brain. That device will decode human thoughts and decipher what we want to do. Then it will search the internet and directly download the information into our brain.
Moreover, the Neuralink device will communicate with other devices surrounding us, thus making our life much easier. For example, a Neuralink device will help paralyzed patients operate smartphones, a wheelchair, etc.
On every business endeavor – Paypal, OpenAI, Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink – Elon is successful. We are pretty sure he will be successful at the Neuralink too.
As we can see, Tesla or Elon Musk is not working on smartphones. Instead, Elon Musk is working on a technology (Neuralink) that doesn’t even exist. These false rumor makers are so shallow in their thought that they don’t even know what Elon Musk is really up to.
